She is plagued by nightmares, blames herself for her sister’s death, and even feels unlovable.
When Jessica Ward barely narrowly escapes being run over by Adam Brody’s driver, he is quick to help her to safety. Even going so far as to smooth things over with her boss when she is late to work because of him. His chance meeting with Jessica causes his strict and ordered world to tailspin, and he is willing to promise her anything to keep her. It does not escape Jessica’s attention that Adam is deliciously handsome, or that she is pleasantly surprised by the stirrings he causes deep inside her.
Shortly after meeting Jessica, Adam proposes a purely sexual relationship to her, and despite her initial misgivings, she cannot deny that she is very attracted to him. Undeterred by her repeated refusals, he begins his pursuit of her. She is able to withstand all of his advances until one night he proposes something altogether different. He has decided that he does not want to be without her and he is willing to try a more traditional ‘relationship’.
They struggle to keep jealousies, family drama, and well-meaning friends at bay as they make their journey from lust to love.
